Users, not IT, become the trainers

…in today’s user-as-codeveloper environment(link to CIO article here).  Users training users makes training more relevant and effective, but it’s also a drain on user’s time.  It’s also difficult to explain the situation to higher-ups, who tend to be older and used to the-way-things-used-to-be, with IT training users. 

In my experience, IT folks fundamentally don’t understand the way users *use* things.

But as one of those user-as-trainer folks, I wish I had more time.
